PETER GUINNESS


Peter Guinness is a fine actor who has produced consistently excellent performances in a large number of IRDP productions. These include Tartuffe (in which he played the lead), Bad Vibrations by Paul Sirett, Bliss and Tumble by James Payne and Chris Fitch, The Wolf and the Woodcutter by Martin McDonagh, The Great Los Angeles Opportunity by William George Q, and most recently The Sons of Catholic Gentlemen by Francis Beckett. He also played the part of the Meditation Man in Anna Hashmi's Much Like Yourself, which was directed by Tim Crook for BBC Radio 4.

Peter has worked extensively in film, theatre, television and radio.

Film credits include: Hostile Waters, The Saint, Christopher Columbus The Discovery, Alien III, An Old Country, Shiftwork, The Woman in Black, American Roulette and The Keep.

Television work includes work for BBC, S4C, Central TV, Channel 4, YTV, LWT, Granada and Anglia: Casualty (series 12, in which he plays Elliot Matthews), Ivanhoe, Haunted Europe, Tales from the Crypt, Cadfael, Rhodes, The Bill, The Asylum War, Bugs, Seaforth, Spender, Smokescreen, The Paul Merton Show, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Highlander, Heartbeat III, Stay Lucky, Zorro, The Zebra Man, The Widowmaker, The Cloning of Joanna May, Sherlock Holmes, The Chief, Chancer, Old Flames, Blackeyes, Rockcliffe's Babies and By the Sword Divided.

Theatre credits include: for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Macbeth, The Rover, Flight, Two Noble Kinsmen, Sarcophagus, They Shoot Horses, Don't They? and Ion. He has also appeared on the stages of The Old Vic and Young Vic Theatres, Glasgow Citizens, Old Red Lion, Birmingham Rep, Contact Theatre and Royal Exchange Manchester, Orange Tree Richmond, Bristol Old Vic, in a large number of productions including The Indian Queen, Webster, The Power and the Glory, The Seagull, The Tempest, Dr Faustus, Measure for Measure, Hamlet, Moby Dick, Romeo and Juliet, The Changeling, The Second Mrs Tanqueray and Too Clever by Half.

He has worked for BBC Radio Drama and BBC World Service Drama, as well as in the IRDP radio productions mentioned above.
