| Several of these writers have had more than one script short-listed. We would like to thank everybody who submitted a script to the competition this year and we would also like to make a special mention of a group of young writers from Dumfriesshire who, although not all short-listed, we believe have a very bright future ahead of them: Ralphe Hulle, Bobby Murray, Andrew Whitfield, Tom Seddon and Marie Walker. Their average age is 10 and the high standard of their entries is remarkable. The top ten winning plays will be announced at the Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly Circus, London on Friday 15th May 1998.
