|   In The Cupboard by Lydia Harris The Play: In The Cupboard was one of the winners of the Woolwich Young Radio Playwrights' Competition in 1997. Fred, an unappreciated film director, retreats into a cupboard to lick his wounds following the failure of his latest film. He just wants to be alone for a few days....but people don't seem to want to allow him this time on his own. . This was our Internet Play of the Month in September 1998. To find out about our current play of the month, click here The Playwright: Lydia Harris was 17 when she wrote In The Cupboard, while she was studying for her A Levels at Bedwas Comprehensive School in South Wales. She has now just finished school and is currently touring the country as singer and guitarist in the rock band Sulk. In The Cupboard was one of the ten winners of the Woolwich Young Radio Playwrights' Competition in 1997. Bedwas has also produced two previous winners of the competition - Jessica Evans and Kirsten Edwards - thanks to encouragement and inspiration from Head of English at the school, Roger Lane. |
