![]() The Knucker Hole by Karen Sainsbury The Play: The Knucker Hole was one of the winners of the Woolwich Young Radio Playwrights' Competition in 1995/6. The play is centred on Dr Burroughs, a behavioural psychologist, and a young researcher, Alex Stirling, a staunch believer in dragons who is searching for a knucker hole, where according to Saxon legend a dragon is reputed to live. Burroughs is reluctant to help Alex locate the pool, and hinders him the whole way. At the pool, both find what they are not expecting, and Burroughs' housekeeper, Mrs McKenzie, appears to know more than she is letting on.
